This large and handsome chess set is named for General George S. Patton of the United States Army. Patton possessed a colourful, fiery image and he had a hard-driving personality that his men loved. This set features an extraordinary knight with graceful lines and intricate detail carved including eyes, nostrils, mouth, teeth and a flared mane which shows movement. The king features an ornate finial that is unique from any other chess set in our collection. The lathe work is extraordinary with compound collars and eloquent lines precisely turned into the base of each piece.
