Warranty and Refund Policy

WARRANTY POLICY

Chess Villa will warranty that its branded products will be free of manufacturing defects for a period of 3 years in case of Chess Pieces and 6 months in case of Chess Boards, Chess Boxes and Travel Chess Sets.

We will replace any items that exhibit manufacturing defects at absolutely no charge to the customer. Warranty will be void if any instances of manipulation, or damage due to external factors beyond our control are found.

Defects that ARE COVERED under this warranty:
1. Hairline cracks develop in the base of Wooden Chessmen.
2. The metal weight inside a chess piece becomes loose and moves around. 

Defects that ARE NOT COVERED under this warranty:
1. Any physical defects that were caused by improper use of the product such as being dropped on the ground, improper storage, etc.
2. Any pieces that are damaged due to improper waxing.

The above examples do not represent every possible defect; all warranty claims are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Terms and Conditions-

1. The warranty is applicable from the date of purchase.
2. Kindly keep a record of the Order id & date of purchase received at the time of placing an order on our selling channels (Amazon/ Etsy/ Ebay/ Company Website or any other website.
3. In event, the design has been discontinued or we are unable to manufacture the replacements, warranty credit in the form of store credit/ refund may be issued.
4. We try to maintain a regular stock of all our items. However, in circumstances where replacements are not available for ready dispatch, Please allow us some time to remanufacture these pieces.
5. Cost of shipping the replacement will be born by us.
6. Any instance of damage in transit has to be reported within 48 hours of receipt.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will be issued for the buyer in the following cases.

1: Buyer Initiated Returns:  

After we receive the returned item back to our warehouse in India, we will issue a Refund excluding any shipping upgrades purchased by the buyer and any original shipping cost paid by the company (Free Shipping Cases).

2: Unavailability of items :  

In rare cases when we are unable to ship out the items from our existing stock, a 100% refund shall be issued to the buyer.

3: Claim for defective products :  

In case, we are unable to manufacture items for replacements, the company may at its sole discretion, issue a suitable store credit/ refund to the buyer’s account.
All the refunds will be processed within 7-10 Days of refund approval via Bank Transfer or PayPal.
