Chess Villa is proud to offer historic- USSR Soviet Tournament Chessmen. The Chessmen feature a 4″ King with a 1.5” Diameter base and are heavily weighted.

This chess set was originally developed in the year 1970 and used in the USSR Tournament. We perfectly matched the chess pieces with the original chess set. 
The high-quality green felt is pasted on the bases of this chess set.

The beautiful chess set pieces with the meticulously handcrafted knights are carved with perfection and expert precision. The Chess Pieces are hand carved by our skilled master craftsmen and crafted out of highest grade exotic woods. It offers the highest level of detail and would make a wonderful additional to any chess collection. The set is entirely handmade in India and weighted for prodigious hand-feel and a very nice thud on the wooden chess board.

Beautiful set. Distressed look is perfectly executed. Pieces look better than the photos. Pre-sale communications was excellent. Prompt shipment. Arrived in California in about a week, no sales tax collected, no import taxes, tariffs or other issues. Each piece super well protected. Works really well with 2.25 inch squares.

high tax need to be added to the price. otherwise quite nice. some splinters at the crown of the queens needed to be cut of, but I love the design, the heavy feeling and the wood is awsome.
